A woman who went missing without her medication has been found safe.

An appeal was launched to trace Leigh Hunter after she left a house in Sighthill Road in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

She had reportedly been driving towards Carlisle in a dark red Renault Scenic.

Police said they were concerned for her welfare as the 46-year-old needed daily medication which she did not have with her.

Officers announced she had been found safe and well on Thursday.
