An elderly woman who died in a three-vehicle smash has been named by police.

Jessie Cunningham, from Kelso, died after the crash on the A6089 Kelto to Gordon Road at Bulletloan.

A grey Seat Ibiza was involved in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a black Ford Fiesta at around 8.55pm on July 2.

The 95-year-old, a passenger of the Fiesta, died at Borders General Hospital after being admitted with serious injuries.

Inquiries into the full circumstances of the incident are continuing, and officers are asking that anyone with information comes forward.

Seregant Neil Inglis said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with Jessie Cunningham's family and friends and we are continuing with our investigation to establish exactly what happened during this collision.

"Anyone who has information, but who has not yet contacted police, is urged to contact police immediately."
