A second man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was allegedly stabbed outside a pub.

A 24-year-old man was seriously injured at The Mousetrap pub in Leith Walk, Edinburgh, in the early hours of Sunday.

Peter Ross, 39, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder on Monday.

Officers have now charged a second man in connection with the alleged attack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh can now confirm that a second man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder.

"Officers were called to a premises in the Leith Walk area at around 12.10am on Sunday after a 24-year-old man was seriously injured."
