Police have appealed for information to help trace a man who has been missing from Fife for five days.

Steven Cunningham, 48, is missing from Cowdenbeath and was last seen on Tuesday.

His family say his disappearance is out of character and they are growing concerned for his welfare.

Mr Cunningham may be driving his car, a silver Vauxhall Astra, and could have travelled to the north of England.

He wears gold-rimmed glasses and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt. His car's registration number is VE64KNF.

Constable Fiona Menzies at Cowdenbeath Police Station said: "This is completely out of character for Steven to not be in touch with friends or family for this length of time.

"His family are understandably worried and just want to know he is okay.

"It is understood he may have travelled to the north of England in his car."

She continued: "I would ask anyone who may have seen Steven or who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact us so we can ensure he is safe and well.

"I would also appeal to Steven to get in contact with us, or with family and friends.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Cowdenbeath Police Station on 101, quoting the reference MP180703888."
