A workman is trapped down a hole on a construction site.

Emergency services were called to Napier Road in Glenrothes, Fife, on Wednesday.

STV News understands a man's leg is trapped in a substance in the hole shortly before 1pm.

An air ambulance has been called as well as police and fire crews.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 12.57pm to attend an address on Napier Road in Glenrothes.

"We dispatched one ambulance, our special operations response teams, the trauma team, an officer and our Helimed air ambulance to the incident.

"Our teams are still currently on scene."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A worker is trapped at the site at the moment."
