A signalling fault on a railway line is causing major morning disruptions for commuters between Scotland's two biggest cities.

ScotRail engineers are dealing with the fault at Haymarket but many trains have been delayed or cancelled as a result.

Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen St via Falkirk, Edinburgh to Dunblane and Edinburgh to Milngavie/Helensburgh services have all been affected.

Anyone travelling between Edinburgh and Glasgow have been advised to use services via Shotts if travelling to or from Glasgow Central.

Disruptions through Haymarket are expected to last to around midday.

Edinburgh to Dunblane services have been diverted via Dalmeny & Winchburgh to get around the affected area.

Anyone travelling by train should check their journey on ScotRail's website or Twitter account and plan ahead before leaving.
