A woman 'murdered' in a house has been named by police as two people were charged in connection with her death.

Claire Turnbull, 36, died at the property in Rintoul Avenue, Blairhall, Fife, on Friday.

She was pronounced dead after police arrived at the scene around 7.30pm.

Detectives then launched a murder investigation.

A 27-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have now been charged in connection with her death.

They are expected to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court later on Monday and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan said: "Our thoughts are with Claire's family and friends at this tragic time.

"Claire's family are being supported by specialist officers and the family kindly request privacy at this time to come to terms with their loss.

"We are satisfied that this was an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection."
