A man has been arrested after a car struck a number of parked vehicles and traffic lights in Edinburgh.

It's understood police vehicles were used to stop the car after the collisions in Tollcross on Monday morning.

The 53-year-old man was arrested by officers in nearby Morrison Street.

No-one was injured in the incident and police are now trying to contact the owners of the damaged vehicles.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 53-year-old man has been arrested after a car struck a number of parked vehicles and traffic lights in the Tollcross area of Edinburgh at around 11.30am this morning.

"Officers are in the process of identifying and notifying owners of damaged vehicles, no-one was injured in this incident. Inquiries are ongoing."
