Two people have appeared in court over the murder of a Dunfermline woman.

Claire Turnbull, 36, died at the property in Rintoul Avenue, Blairhall, Fife, on Friday.

She was pronounced dead after police arrived at the scene around 7.30pm.

Aaron Donald, 27, and Laura McMurdo, 29, have been charged in connection with her death and appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday.

The pair, from Dunfermline, made no plea during the private hearing and were remanded in custody with the case committed for further examination.

They will return to court next week.

Earlier, Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan said: "Our thoughts are with Claire's family and friends at this tragic time.

"Claire's family are being supported by specialist officers and the family kindly request privacy at this time to come to terms with their loss.

"We are satisfied that this was an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection."
