Disgraced ex-RBS chief Fred Goodwin's boardroom table is up for sale.

The table was donated by Clydesdale bank to homeless charity FourSquare to be used in their offices.

However it's 25ft length was too big for their boardroom so they've decided to sell it for £4000.

The table previously belonged in Mr Goodwin's Clydesdale Bank office, where he served as deputy chief executive until 1995.

It was at Clydesdale Bank where he earned the nickname 'Fred The Shred' for his ruthless, cost-saving reputation.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "We hope to raise £4000 with the sale of the table that we can put towards helping homeless and disadvantaged people throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians."

The table is available to buy from the Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, a shop run by FourSquare.
