Police in Fife are looking to trace a woman who was the victim of a sexual assault in Dunfermline.

Officers are appealing for the woman to come forward after they received reports of an assault committed on Halbeath Road on the evening of October, 17.

DS Kieran Marsh of Dunfermline CID said: "We have recently received information that a female may have been the potential victim of a sexual assault and we are appealing for her to come forward.

"I would like to provide assurances that we take such crimes seriously and any report will be treated professionally and with sensitivity, with support provided by specially trained officers."
