Two men threatened staff in a bid to raid a tanning salon.

The incident happened at Indigo Sun on Fruitmarket Place in Chesser, Edinburgh, at 9.45pm on Friday.

The men threatened a member of staff before being told there was nothing in the till.

One of the men then searched the premises while the other kept a look out at the front door.

When nothing was found, the pair stole a CCTV hard drive before fleeing towards Hutchison Road.

The first man is white, of an average build and is in his mid to late 20s.

He is 5ft 10in, has an Edinburgh accent and was wearing a blue/green scarf across his face, a dark three-quarter length hooded jacket and dark bottoms.

The second man is white, slim and is also aged in his mid to late 20s.

He is 5ft 8in and was wearing dark clothing and padded dark gloves.

Sergeant Robert Wallace said: "Fortunately no one was injured but this was a frightening attack which has left a female member of staff distressed. We are eager to trace the men responsible as soon as possible.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw these men, or anything suspicious, before or after the incident, to get in touch to help with our investigation.

"In particular we would like to trace the missing CCTV hard drive."
