A multi-vehicle collision on the M90 has sparked traffic delays in Fife.

Traffic Scotland stated that three vehicles were involved in the accident near Halbeath, however a Police Scotland spokesman told STV News that officers at the scene have recorded four motorists caught up in the crash.

There have been no reports of any casualties.

The incident occurred on Saturday just before 11.45am on the M90 southbound between J2A Crossgates and J2 Pitreavie.

Traffic was brought to a stop due to the blockage of lane two. By 12.02pm, all vehicles involved in the collision had been moved off the main carriageway.

Traffic Scotland has warned drivers to plan ahead due to the congestion.

They tweeted: "All vehicles from the RTC moved off the main carriageway. Lane two reopened, bus lane now closed.

"Congestion remains back to J3 Halbeath."
