A minibus believed to have several passengers on board has overturned in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services, including four fire engines, are at the scene of the accident on the A6089 between Carfraemill and Gordon, near Lauder.

Photographs from the scene show the upturned bus lying next to the road.

There was no immediate reports of casualties.

Police Scotland said no other vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened at around 10.50am on Saturday.

The road remains closed in both directions and "will be for some time" police said.

A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue service was alerted at 10:55am on Saturday, December 29 to reports of a road traffic collision in the Scottish Borders.

"Operations Control mobilised four fire engines to the A6089, close to the village of Gordon, where fire fighters assisted their emergency service partners."
