Police are investigating claims of sectarian singing and coin throwing at the Hearts v Celtic match on Wednesday night.

Coins were reportedly thrown from the Celtic end during the Premiership clash at Tynecastle.

Match footage shows an object landing close to Hearts goalkeeper Bobby Zlamal as he prepared to take a goal kick.

Police also received complaints about sectarian singing during the game, which Celtic won 2-1.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh are currently investigating reports of sectarian singing that took place within Tynecastle stadium on Wednesday, February 27.

"Police are also investigating reports of coins being thrown from the away stand during the SPFL match between Heart of Midlothian and Celtic that evening.

"Anyone with any relevant information in relation to these incidents should contact police immediately."

Cops are also investigating a video which surfaced online showing a group of fans singing a song about former manager Brendan Rodgers "dying in his sleep".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are aware of footage posted to social media taken in a premises prior to the fixture between Hearts and Celtic on Wednesday 27 February and will review this to establish if further action is required."
