A man has been charged over 18 break-ins to businesses and vehicles across West Lothian.

The 32-year-old has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a total of 22 offences.

The incidents occurred between January 21 and February 13 in Broxburn, Bathgate, Armadale, West Calder, Livingston and West Linton.

Various items, including high-value power tools, were stolen.

Detective sergeant Gillan Ross said: "During our inquiries a search warrant was executed at an address in Blackburn, West Lothian, and numerous items of stolen property were recovered.

"This included a number of valuable power tools, which have now been returned to their owners.

"Tackling acquisitive crime is one of our top priorities in West Lothian and to do this effectively we rely on the assistance of member of the public.

"I would urge the pubic to remain vigilant for acquisitive crime and report anything suspicious."
