A cyclist has been struck by a lorry on a road in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to the crash at Sir Harry Lauder Road at around 10.05am on Wednesday.

Officers remain in attendance along with ambulance crews who are treating the injured cyclist at the scene.

Road closures have been put in place at the junction of Portobello High Street and Fishwives Causeway and drivers have been advised to avoid the area.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to Sir Harry Lauder Road around 10.05am today following a report that a cyclist had been struck by a lorry.

"Officers and the Scottish Ambulance Service remain in attendance."
