A body has been found during a search for a missing dad-of-three in Midlothian.

Police made the discovery in a wooded area near to Crighton Castle, Pathhead at around 12.50pm on Friday.

Ross Taylor, 30, disappeared from his home in Mayfield on Sunday afternoon.

Formal identification has yet to take place, however Mr Taylor's family have been informed.

Mr Taylor's partner, Laura D'Arcy, previously told STV News that she hasn't been able to think straight since his disappearance.

She said: "You get up, you go again, and then you try to get some sleep. It's draining.

"It's the adrenaline that's pushing me through.

"I can't even think straight now - it's 24/7. I just keep thinking 'where is he?'."

Ms D'Arcy, 30, described Mr Taylor's actions as "out of character".

She added: "Just like anyone else he would go out for a walk with the dogs. This time he left the dogs.

"My main focus is to try and find him. But I wouldn't expect this from him, which makes it harder trying to think of where he could go."

Officers say enquires are continuing.
