An ice cream van driver has admitted sexually abused two teenage boys in West Lothian after getting them drunk on vodka.

Convicted paedophile William McGill committed the offences at an address in Addiewell between August 2001 and December 2002.

The court heard that one of the accusers was only 14-years-old when McGill gave him three strong vodkas before attacking him as he lay frozen and terrified.

The 57-year-old's second victim was around 12 or 14 when he was given three or four triple vodkas before being sexually abused.

At one point the terrified boy pleaded with McGill "please don't" but he ignored him and carried on with the abuse.

Prosecutor David Taylor said: "Both complainers have indicated that these events have had a long term detrimental impact upon their lives and it continues to haunt them to this day."

In 2013 McGill was jailed for five years over separate sexual offences against other young boys and released in 2018.

McGill appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday after the fresh accusations came to light.

Judge Lady Stacey deferred sentence on McGill , who is remanded in custody, for reports and will sentence him next month.
