Rock fans mourning the death of Motrhead frontman Lemmy will be able to watch his funeral live - via YouTube.

The band announced on their Facebook page today that a live stream would record proceedings from inside the Hollywood venue.

Lemmy, whose real name was Ian Fraser Kilmister, died on 28 December last year at the age of 70, two days after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Today the British band, who formed in 1975 and produced 23 studio albums including the hit single "Ace of Spades", respectfully asked fans not to attend the funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery this coming Saturday.

But addressing fans, the band added "we want you all to be a part of this," before announcing that a live stream of the one-and-a-half hour ceremony would be broadcast live from 11pm GMT.

Writing on Facebook, the band said: "So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch the service with fellow Motrheadbangers and friends.

"GO to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us.

"Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemms life at home."

The post continued: "Whatever your venue, and however you can, lets be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon."
