Susan Sarandon has led an online backlash against Piers Morgan after the presenter criticised her choice of a low-cut outfit during an awards ceremony In Memoriam tribute.

The actress was presenting the segment at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Monday, paying tribute to artists lost in the past year such as David Bowie and Alan Rickman.

Afterwards, Good Morning Britain host Morgan criticised Sarandon for wearing an outfit with her black bra clearly visible, arguing it was "horribly inappropriate" for such a memorial.

After Morgan's attack, Sarandon came back with a direct response.

She then received a rush of messages from other women, showing their own cleavages to make a stand over a woman's right to dress as they see fit.

Some men also got in on the act in solidarity.

After being bombarded with the criticism of his comments, Morgan came back with a robust defence.

And to Sarandon's message to him, he had his own special way of responding.
