Magician Paul Daniels has returned home to spend his final days with his family after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

According to the TV star's family doctors have not said how long the 77-year-old's health will hold out but they are all "living in the knowledge every day is a bonus."

It was revealed that Daniels, who is married to his former assistant Debbie McGee and has three sons from a former marriage, was suffering from terminal cancer just two weeks ago.

The diagnosis came after the magician was rushed to hospital suspected of suffering a stroke and doctors discovered he had a brain tumour.

Son Martin, who is also a magician, told The Sunday Mirror it had been an "unbearably difficult time" for the whole family.

However despite the diagnosis Daniels is reportedly trying to remain upbeat and even spent his time in hospital "walking about trying to cheer up all the other patients" as well as backing a campaign to raise money for others.

The magician is encouraging members of the public to donate towards future research and support agencies for other patients like himself via a gofundmepage set up by one of his other sons Gary.
