DNA tests are set to be carried out on Prince's blood in case any future paternity claims arise.

According to a judge ruling made on Friday lawyers dealing with the star's multimillion-dollar estate, which he reportedly left no known will for, can conduct genetic testing on blood being kept by medical examiners as "parentage issues might arise."

The request for DNA testing came as it continues to remain uncertain who will inherit the Purple Rain singer's estimated $300m fortune and the rights to his brand and rumoured catalogue of thousands of unreleased songs.

His sister Tyka Nelson told officials the twice-married star, who died on April 21 after collapsing in a lift at his Paisley Park compound in Minneapolis, had no will.
