Sir Terry Wogan's life will be celebrated in a special event at Westminster Abbey in September, the BBC has announced.

The veteran broadcaster, died of cancer in January 31, aged 77.

Sir Terry was best known for his roles hosting chat show Wogan, the Eurovision Song Contest and the Children in Need fundraisers.

The Irish-born presenter was hailed as a "national treasure" following his death, with Prime Minister David Cameron saying he was "someone millions came to feel was their own special friend".
