Scotland's most loved fictional pensioners have started filming ahead of the long-awaited new series of Still Game.

Jack, played by Ford Kiernan, and Victor, played by Greg Hemphill, reunited on Monday at a purpose-built set at BBC Scotland's Dumbarton Studios after nine years off screen.

The first scenes starring the comedy duo and Jane McCarry as Isa were filmed at the start of a six-week shoot, which will also see the cast filming on location around Glasgow.

The comedy series which last aired in 2007 will return to BBC One later this year, with six new episodes starring all of the original cast.

In May, when the new series was announced, Kiernan said: "We're super happy to come back with the show - we had no idea how much it had been missed until we played the Hydro.

"Myself and Greg are really excited about getting the gang together again and we are putting our all in to make our fantastic audience feel like we've never been away."

Hemphill added: "We are thrilled to be given this opportunity, with the full support of the BBC Network, to don the bunnets once more.

"On behalf of all the cast, I'd like to thank Still Game fans for keeping the show alive after all these years. We'll save a seat for you in the Clansman."
