Gary Lineker really could be all talk and no trousers after bosses at Match of The Day hinted that the star is ready to honour a pledge to host the next show wearing just his underpants.

The pundit had publicly vowed to front the football programme in his smalls if Leicester City won the Premier League.

"If Leicester win the@premierleague I'll do the first MOTD of next season in just my undies," he wrote on Twitter.

After the underdogs romped to an unexpected triumph it left fans with the burning question over whether Linker would stick to his word.

Now the BBC show's official Twitter has dropped a heavy hint that he will.

Lineker himself also teased fans with a post on his own account.

He re-tweeted an article asking "Will Gary Lineker really present Match of the Day in his pants?" with the answer "Guess you'll find out on Saturday".

Th question has sparked hot debate on Twitter.

Fans had been eagerly waiting news of whether Lineker, 55, would be sticking to his word on the pledge.

Some fans even made up billboards to encourage the ex-footballer, who has frequently graced sexist men lists.

The new series of MatchOf The Day kicks off at 10.30pm on BBC One on Saturday.
