Every up and coming artist in the music business dreams of making that big break when all their hard work finally gets recognised.

But unfortunately for one radio station's talent scout they were just a bit late to the party with their latest "new" singer.

After 40 years at the very top of the industry, eight Brit Awards, four Grammys and numerous hit albums and singles the station has apparently just noticed the "potential" of Annie Lennox.

The Scottish Walking On Broken Glass and Sweet Dreams (are made of this) singer received an email from Radio Los Angeles eager "new music coordinator" Kylie telling her they liked her work and were ready to offer her a big break by playing her music to their 100,000 unique listeners a month.

The former Eurythmics singer shared the message to her 1.8 million followers on Facebook saying "I think I'm in with a chance".

Aberdeen born Annie started out in the music business with her first band Dragon's Playground in 1976 before getting her real big break with Dave Stewart as part of the Eurythmics in the early 80's.

From 1992 she embarked on her successful solo career with her most recent album Nostalgia released as recently as 2014,

In 1984 she won Best Female Artist at the Brit Awards, which she also won in 86, 89, 90, 93 and 96, she was also awarded the Outstanding Contribution to British Music award in 1999.

She is also a well known singer in the States having won four Grammy Awards in 1987, 1993, 1996 and 2005 and has also had a gold and two double-platinum albums as a solo artist and three gold and three platinum albums, and one double-platinum album, as a member of Eurythmics.

The scout requested the 62-year-old send over the MP3 of her "latest single" and kindly promised to get her onto 150 radio stations worldwide.

And the best part, according to Kylie the new music scout, is that they could cover all of her marketing expenses if they "really like her music".

They must have been wondering Who's That Girl?
