The View singer Kyle Falconer has announced plans to release a solo album.

The 30-year-old, who will also be supporting former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher on his tour, revealed the details on social media on Thursday.

His album is due to be released in spring next year and can be pre-ordered on digital download and exclusive signed physical formats.

Alongside the album, Falconer will also be releasing a range of merchandise.

He is due to support Gallagher at the SSE Hyrdo in Glasgow on December 4.

Falconer, from Dundee, shot to fame with the 2007 album Hats Off To The Buskers and hit singles such as Superstar Tradesman, Face For The Radio and Same Jeans, which hit number three in the UK singles chart.

The new album has been partly recorded at Paul Weller's Black Barn Studio in Surrey.
