TRNSMT has announced that Arctic Monkeys will close the first weekend of the Glasgow music festival.

The band will take to the stage on Sunday, July 1, in their only UK performance of 2018.

The festival takes place from June 29 to July 1, then again on July 6 to July 8.

Geoff Ellis, head of DF Concerts, said: "We are thrilled to bring TRNSMT fans Arctic Monkey's as our opening weekend's final headliners.

"We've wanted to have them back in Scotland for a while now and can't wait to see what their set will bring.

"The festival's line-up is a combination of legends and bright young stars. We have one more headliner to announce before our line-up is complete and we can assure fans TRNSMT 2018 will be unmissable."

There has been several performers already announced for the music festival, such as The Killers, Jessie J, Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics.
