Van Morrison is among the acts booked to play this year's Summer Nights festival held at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Bandstand.

Other acts performing at the popular event from late July to August include the The Pretenders, The Fratellis and Fleet Foxes.

Bryan Ferry, First Aid Kit, OMD, Imelda May and Roddy Frame will also take to the stage during the fortnight.

Last year, the festival scooped the Unesco City of Music Best Live Event at the Scottish Music Awards.

Now in its fifth year, Summer Nights first began in 2014 after a £2.1m refurbishment of the 90-year-old Glasgow landmark.

Past acts from over the years have included Texas, Brian Wilson, Pixies, KT Tunstall, Primal Scream and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Mark Mackie, director of festival organisers Regular Music, said: "We are delighted to have such an incredible array of talent, including some true music legends all performing at Summer Nights this year.

"Kelvingrove Bandstand has such a fantastic atmosphere and the feedback we have had from both artists and audiences is that they have a great time being there."

Tickets for the concerts go on sale on Friday, February 2, at 9am on the Ticketmaster website or on 0844 844 0444.
