The winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2018 will be performing in Glasgow in her first public appearance since winning the reality show.

Courtney Act, also known as Shane Janek, will be celebrating winning the Channel 5 show with a performance at the Classic Grand on Jamaica Street on Wednesday, February 9.

The Australian drag queen, pop singer and entertainer beat former Tory MP Anne Widdecome, Boyzone's Shayne Lynch and Ex on The Beach star Jess Impiazzi in Friday's final.

Former Celtic manager John Barnes and rapper Ginuwine were among those evicted in earlier rounds.

Courtney Act, who was somewhat unknown in the UK prior to Big Brother, made legions of new fans by speaking up for trans and gender issues while in the house- including a fiery confrontation with former MP for Maidstone Anne Widdicome who eventually finished second.

The 36-year-old, who made her name on RuPaul's Drag Race, said she was inspired by her experiences as a teenager to go into the Big Brother house.

She said: "My inspiration coming into the house was that teenage boy who didn't quite know where he belonged or how he fitted in and feeling inspired by the Spice Girls - and not knowing what that meant but knowing if it was ok for them to be different then it was ok for me to be different.

"I guess it's validation that it's Ok to be different."
