The television and film industry spent £95m in Scotland last year - the highest total since records began.

Directors have been turning to the country, with a host of Hollywood film crews setting up here.

Creative Scotland has now launched a new £3m fund and a partnership called Screen Scotland in a bid to attract more top cinema talent.

To celebrate, here's a reminder of some of the blockbusters to have put Scotland on the big - and small - screen in the last couple of years.

Released earlier this year, Avengers: Infinity War stars a host of A-listers including Captain America Chris Evans, Incredible Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, Black Widow's Scarlett Johansson and Thor star Chris Hemsworth.

They joined Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen and Vision actor Paul Bettany for the overnight filming in Edinburgh.

The village of St Abbs in the Borders was also on lockdown as Thor, Hulk and Black Widow filmed daytime scenes.

Hemsworth and Ruffalo delighted fans by stopping to sign autographs and take photos as they arrived back at their Edinburgh hotel after filming.

Hollywood star Chris Pine was spotted filming action-packed scenes of the Netflix period drama in Glasgow late last year.

The actor, playing Robert The Bruce, was seen filming scenes of the Outlaw King outside Glasgow Cathedral.

Based on novels by Diana Gabaldon, the popular American TV series follows the life of a historical time-traveller played by Sam Heughan.

Set in Scotland the series has been filmed all over the country including Glasgow, Glencoe, Troon and Linlithgow.

Love you to Death, starring Scottish TV personality Craig Ferguson and actress Kathy Gifford, has been shot at various locations including Lochgilphead town centre, Inveraray and Cairndow.

The films producer Matthew Weiner was so impressed by the scenery that he described filming in Argyll and Bute as "phenomenal".

The storyline follows Gifford's character as she travels to Scotland with her husband's ashes to visit places they had always wanted to travel to.

But while visiting Loch Fyne, she meets a Scotsman played by Ferguson and her plans change dramatically.

The cast and crew of Love You to Death were accommodated at Drimsynie, Lochgilphead.

Scenes from the latest instalment of the iconic Star Wars film series were filmed throughout the country.

Fans of the legendary sci-fi flick will be able to watch their heroes take part in intergalactic battles in places such as Argyll and the Highlands.

The historic pass Rest and Be Thankful will be used for the £1bn film, the first of a new trilogy from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

The film will represent the latest in a long line of links between Star Wars and Scotland.

Scots actor Denis Lawson played rebel pilot Wedge Antilles in the 1977 original and Carnoustie-born Ian McDairmid's performance as the evil emperor Palpatine in the Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith was widely praised by the franchise's loyal fanbase.

In 2015's The Force Awakens X-wing fighters were filmed flying over the Highlands and most notably Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor played legendary character Obi-Wan Kenobi.
