Hollywood star to attend Outlaw King premiere in Edinburgh
The Vue Omni cinema will roll out the red carpet for Chris Pine and his castmates.
Hollywood superstar Chris Pine is set to return to Scotland for the premiere of his new Netflix film.
Edinburgh's Vue Omni will roll out the red carpet to host the first screening of The Outlaw King later this month.
The blockbuster tells the untold, true story of Robert the Bruce (Pine) who transforms from defeated nobleman to outlaw hero during the oppressive occupation of medieval Scotland by Edward I of England.
Despite grave consequences, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies an impassioned group of men to fight back against the mighty English army.
Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman) will join director David Mackenzie, producer Gillian Berrie and co-stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Billy Howle (Dunkirk), Tony Curran (Thor: The Dark World) and James Cosmo (Game of Thrones) at the premiere on Friday, October 19.
The big-budget film was shot on location at a variety of Scottish landmarks, including Linlithgow Palace, Doune Castle, Dunfermline Abbey, Mugdock Country Park and the University of Glasgow.
A village of thatched cottages was created in the parkland around Historic Environment Scotland's Craigmillar Castle, while Seacliff Beach in East Lothian also saw some of the action with horseback riders appearing on the sand.
