Amy Macdonald, Kyle Falconer and former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler have been added to this year's SSE Scottish Music Awards line-up.

The Snuts will also join the previously announced Snow Patrol and Tom Grennan at Glasgow's SEC to celebrate the prestigious awards' 20th anniversary.

Amy Macdonald, who picked up Best Newcomer at the 2007 awards, has since achieved stardom across the globe with tracks including Mr Rock & Roll, Don't Tell Me That It's Over and This Is The Life.

She said: "I'm delighted to be invited back, especially as it's their 20th anniversary year and also 11 years since they were kind enough to give me the Best Newcomer award when I was just starting out on my first album.

"Getting that award was a real landmark for me and to have that kind of support at home in Scotland meant a lot and still does."

All funds raised on the night will be donated to Nordoff Robbins Scotland, which will allow the charity to provide music therapists and sessions to those who need it most.

Amy added: "The event is also a big fundraiser for Nordoff Robbins Scotland, which is a fantastic charity and one I'm always happy to support.

"They use music to make such a difference to the lives of people who find it very difficult to communicate in other ways and that's something that I can really relate to as a musician."

The awards ceremony has been the main fundraising event for the charity since 1996.

Donald MacLeod, chairman of the fundraising committee for Nordoff Robbins Scotland, said: "Every year we see the best of the Scottish music industry come together to support our charity and celebrate one of the most vibrant music scenes in the world.

"See you all in December."

The event will take place on Saturday, December 1.
