Firefighters work overnight to tackle blaze after country home destroyed
Firefighters have tackled a blaze at Ardintoul House, Glenelg, in the Highlands.
Fire crews are still attending a blaze that has destroyed a country house in the Highlands.
Firefighters have worked overnight to tackle the blaze at the two-storey building, Ardintoul House in Glenelg, near Kyle of Lochalsh.
The home, on the southern shore of Loch Alsh, was built in the 1700s. It was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
Three fire crews attended the scene at 11.30pm on Sunday.
The blaze has been extinguished but Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service said on Monday that they remain at the scene because the property is thought to be unsafe.
No other buildings have been damaged.
The cause of the fire is unknown and investigations are continuing.
