Rescue teams are continuing to search the Cairngorms for missing hillwalker Jim Robertson.

Police officers and mountain rescue teams have been working together in a “concerted effort” to find him.

The 61 year old, from Glasgow, was last seen on Wednesday March 2.

He is thought to have stayed in the Bob Scott Bothy close to Derry Lodge on the Mar Lodge Estate.

Braemar mountain rescue has asked other mountain rescue teams to help them in the search.

Meanwhile, officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the Derry Lodge area - which is around eight miles from Braemar - between Tuesday, 1 March, and Wednesday, 2 March.

Inspector Matt Smith, Police Mountain Rescue Team Leader, said: "Despite a huge search and rescue operation which has been running since Saturday we have so far failed to find any trace of Jim.

"Vast areas of the Cairngorms have been covered and we remain indebted to the commitment shown by the volunteers from Braemar, Aberdeen and Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Teams as well as the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and air support from the Coastguard.”

Police said information provided by hill goers had helped to narrow the search.

Officers are hoping someone may have encountered him on the hill between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 2 March and may yet still come forward.
