Police are searching for the owner of a dog that killed three sheep on a Highlands farm.

The spaniel attacked a flock at Allanmore Farm by Drumnadrochit at 7.30am on Tuesday.

Police said at least three of the animals have since died from their injuries.

Officers have since caught the dog they believe is responsible for the attacks, thought to be called Max, but are still looking for his owner.

Sergeant Craig Stuart said: "Police Scotland are keen to trace the owner of the dog to assist with the inquiry.

"The dog is safe and well and being looked after locally. Anybody with any information regarding the owner is asked to contact Police Scotland."
