An alternative location has been proposed for a controversial "see-saw" art installation in Inverness.

Unpopular plans to build the Gathering Place near Friars Bridge have been taken off the table after a public consultation.

It will now be constructed near Eden Court Theatre on Ness Walk as part of the £758,000 River Ness Art Project.

The Gathering Place is designed to tilt gently up and down.

Concerns have been raised about safety and the installation's potential impact on fishing on the River Ness.

Inverness provost Helen Carmichael said: "The new visual images help to show how well the Gathering Place will fit very unobtrusively within the new setting, with fabulous views up and down the river."
