The search for a pensioner missing in the Highlands has been expanded five days on from his disappearance.

Roger Fletcher was last seen at his holiday home in Bundalloch, near Dornie, at around 8.30am on Sunday.

He is believed to have gone hiking in the Bundalloch and Camuslighne areas but may have been seen walking near the A87 on Sunday evening.

A search involving mountain rescue teams, Police Scotland and the RAF was expanded to the hills and woods surrounding the Dornie area on Friday.

South Highland area commander Brian Mackay said: "It's been five days since Mr Fletcher was reported missing and we are extremely concerned for his welfare, as are his family and friends.

"Police and partners have been searching in the area we believe Roger intended to walk but also extending the search towards the A87 and surrounding hills and woodland.

"As we approach the weekend, officers would appeal to anyone who is walking in the area to bear the search activity in mind and report anything you feel may assist.

"We would also reiterate our appeal to anyone who lives or visits locally to check gardens, outbuilding and sheds. Members of the public are thanked for the good response to the appeal so far."
