Two people were seriously injured after a collision on the A9 at Caithness on Sunday.

A total of five people were hurt following the accident at Lathertonwheel.

The two seriously injured people were taken to Raigmore Hospital, one by helicopter and the other by ambulance, where they are in a serious but stable condition.

In addition, three people described as "walking wounded" were taken to Caithness General Hospital.

All five injured people were adults. The road was closed after the two-vehicle crash at 12pm on Sunday.
