Police have issued a fresh appeal for information after the disappearance of an Inverness teenager.

Adam Mitchell, 18, was last seen in a pub in the city's Baron Taylor Street on Wednesday at around 9pm.

He did not return to his home in the Culduthel area and has not contacted friends or family since.

Relatives say his disappearance is out of character.

Officers believe Mr Mitchell may have been in the Longman area of Inverness in the early hours of Thursday.

He is described as 5ft 11in tall with a heavy build, long brown hair and a beard.

When last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket, a denim vest, black jeans and boots.

An RNLI crew searched the northern and southern shores of the Beauly Firth and the area around the Kessock Bridge on Friday.

Despite thorough searches, they failed to find anything.

Police have asked members of the public to check any outbuildings and sheds for any signs that someone may have been using these for shelter.

Officers said they were "increasingly concerned" for Mr Mitchell's welfare.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 101.
