Posters are being distributed around Inverness in an effort to find a teenager who disappeared a week ago.

Adam Mitchell, 18, had been drinking in a pub on Baron Taylor Street and was last spoken to at around 9pm last Wednesday.

He did not return to his home in Culduthel and has not contacted friends or family since, which relatives say is out of character.

Adam was last seen in the early hours of Thursday morning in the area around Longman Industrial Estate on Harbour Road.

On Wednesday, search teams distributed leaflets and posters around the city while foot searches continued in the area between Longman Road and Stadium Road.

Officers are now asking business owners in the area to check outbuildings, where they believe he may have taken shelter.

He is described as 5ft 11in with a heavy build, long brown hair and a beard.

When last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket, a denim vest, black jeans and boots.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch via 101.
