Thieves stole electrical goods during a break-in at a Highland primary school.

Central Primary School in Inverness was targeted over the weekend.

The thieves also took money totalling less than £100 from the Kenneth Street school.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for information following a break-in and theft at the city's Central Primary School on Kenneth Street.

"Between 6.30pm on Friday and 7.10am on Monday, entry was been forced to the school buildings and items removed, including a two-figure sum of money and electrical equipment.

"As part of ongoing enquiries, we are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area over the weekend to make contact via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
