Two men have appeared in court after £230,000 worth of heroin, cocaine and cannabis were seized in the Highlands, Moray and Liverpool.

On Monday, Joseph Waters, from Liverpool, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with the drugs seizures.

The 20-year-old made no plea or declaration in relation to two charges of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

He was remanded in custody and his case was continued for further examination.

Thomas McKay, from Liverpool, was also arrested after the raids were carried out last week.

The 30-year-old appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday, facing two charges of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

He made no plea or declaration and his case was continued for further examination while he was remanded in custody.

The pair are expected to appear in court again at a later date.

They were arrested as police recovered £180,000 worth of heroin and cocaine in Inverness and Elgin, Moray, while officers also seized heroin and cannabis with an estimated value of £50,000 in the Highlands and Liverpool.
