Man armed with knife in failed raid on coal yard in Inverness
Police are hunting would-be robber who left Fergusson Coal empty-handed on Wednesday morning.
Police are hunting a man who attempted to rob an Inverness coal yard while armed with a knife.
The incident happened at Fergusson Coal on Longman Road at 8am on Wednesday.
The man left empty-handed and police are now reviewing CCTV footage.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 8am this morning a man is reported to have attended at the coal yard and engaged with a member of staff before presenting a weapon.
"He has then left the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No items were taken and the member of staff wasn't injured.
"Officers are appealing to anyone who saw a man in the Longman Road area between 7.30am and 8.30am this morning."
He was described as 6ft tall, with an average build and stubble. He was wearing a black jacket and a black beanie hat.
