Mountain bikers have been warned not to copy stuntman Danny MacAskill after the rescue of a cyclist who broke her leg on Skye.

The woman fell on Coire Lagan last Friday, near where MacAskill shot his popular short film The Ridge in 2014.

She was airlifted to hospital with the help of Skye Mountain Rescue Team and is now recovering.

Skye MRT leader Gerry Akroyd said: "The woman broke her leg despite having all the right equipment. You get the odd biker up here because they want to see what Danny MacAskill was doing.

"They often don't realise he's a stuntman and I wouldn't recommend people try to copy him."

He added: "I'd advise people to be realistic about what they attempt. These are big mountains."
