A fire has broken out above a Primark store in Inverness.

The blaze happened above the shop on Bridge Street shortly before 8.40am on Friday.

Around 20 firefighters are tackling the flames.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We have four appliances at the scene.

"It's a fire on a balcony.

"We don't know the cause yet."

A Police Scotland spokesman added: "Officers are dealing with traffic management at the moment and are keeping people away from the area."
