Police are on the hunt for two men and a female driver after an assault in the Highlands.

A 41-year-old man suffered facial injuries and required medical treatment following the incident in Wick's High Street at around 3.20am on Sunday.

The victim has since been released from Caithness General Hospital.

Investigating officers are seeking to trace two men who were in the area at the time of the incident.

Both are believed to have left in a white Vauxhall Corsa, which was driven by a woman with blonde hair.

Sergeant Stuart Cormack said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into this disturbance and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.

"A number of people have already spoken to police and we are grateful for their assistance."
