A pensioner who died after his car left the road and flipped onto its roof during a crash in the Highlands has been named by police.

Ian Bremner, 74, of Strathpeffer, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A938 near Dulnain Bridge in Grantown on Spey.

The single-vehicle smash, in which Mr Bremner was driving a grey Citroen Picasso, happened at around 8.20pm on Wednesday.

The road was closed for ten hours while an investigation was carried out.

Road policing sergeant Chris Murray said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Bremner's family and friends at this time."
