A man has been left seriously injured following a one-vehicle crash.

The 36-year-old was driving a black BMW on the A82 in Spean Bridge near to the Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel when the smash happened at 5.20pm on Saturday.

He was taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William with serious injuries and was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for further treatment.

A 41-year-old passenger was taken to Belford Hospital and later released.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

PC Malcolm Cameron said: "Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed it and has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage that may help with our enquiries."
